Welcome to Career and Technical Education. We are comprised of three vocational areas:
-
Business and Computer Education
-
Family and Consumer Sciences Education
-
Industrial Technology Education
Our mission is to prepare students for vocational careers based on their interests and abilities, while enhancing the high school experience. Students in CTE courses learn by doing. As a result, these students develop a sense of accomplishment. CTE students end their classroom experience with a finished product, as well as a valuable life skill.
CTE experiences can also provide students with a sense of direction when making their post-secondary education decisions. College majors may be determined based on CTE experiences while in high school. Many courses within the CTE area allow students to earn college credit at South Suburban College upon completing the course in District 205 with an A or B grade in the course.
