As
Guidance Counselors, our best efforts focus on advising and counseling
students toward a high school experience of academic success and
achievement mixed with positive personal growth. Our students'
transition from school to careers, whether it leads to college,
community college, trade school, apprenticeships, or the military, is a
partnership between student, school, and parent.
GOALS:
Students at Thornridge High School receiving guidance and counseling
will:
 |
understand their talents, abilities, and academic skills |
 |
understand career opportunities |
 |
understand post-secondary schooling / training options |
 |
understand how to cope and adapt to the complexities and
challenges presented by modern society |
 |
understand how self-concept affects their success as
individuals and learners |
Staff, parents, and the community will receive information and have
access to guidance programs and activities important to student success.
|
