Great America Physics Day 2007
Mr. Sievers, Mr. Hedden, Mr. Fritz, and Ms. Brogger took 50 physics students at Thornridge to Great America on May 23rd. Students had fun and experienced conservation of energy (yikes), centripetal acceleration (a lot), freefall (wow), impulse (ouch), kinematics (yahoo), forces (a lot of them) and conservation of momentum (thanks to the bumper cars). The students had an awesome time, will long remember this trip, all returned safely, and were able to relate classroom concepts to the rides at Great America. Thanks to Ms. Horton for her help with transportation and ticket purchase. Mr. Fryrear helped out organizing this trip but was unable to attend due to an injury. He was missed.
