On 9/22 Mr. Sievers accompanied 4 students from Thornridge High School, Biannca Miggins, Jerome Knight, Keith Watt and Eduardo Robinson to pour the concrete for the four 42” deep holes that were dug the week before, all in preparation for a deck at the house in Harvey. The students had to place and level four rigid fiber building forms. They gained experience using levels and marking grade elevations and agitating the concrete to release any air bubbles to prevent voids in the concrete. They back filled the rigid fiber building forms and then mixed and poured the concrete in to the tubes. The students did an excellent job of working and cleaning up. The work was completed in approximately 3 hours. This work is important because it is the foundation that the deck will rest on.
