IIT Bridge Contest
Mr. Sievers and Mrs. Fort accompanied the following Thornridge students to
compete at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) bridge contest; Deshawn
Benn, Max Frazier, Tapiwa Saliji, and Doug Bright. Brittney Tucker and David
Williams went along also for the experience. Over 400 students from 30 schools
entered the contest. Students built bridges according to strict IIT guidelines
and all four bridges passed check-in without any modifications. The bridges
were rated according to efficiency and they applied scientific knowledge and
technological design in building the bridges. It was a great experience and fun
was had by all.
