PM Marble Launcher Physics students in Mr. Sievers classes at Thornridge studied projectile motion by launching marbles towards a target and recording the horizontal distance that the projectiles traveled. Students used a photogate and CPO timer to measure the initial velocity of the marbles. Then they used 2 different theoretical equations to predict where the marble should land. They also compared their predictions to the actual distance traveled. The students were able to utilize projectile motion concepts in a hands-on application.
