Students In Mr. Sievers physics class used ticker tape timers to record position and time data for a moving dune buggy. This data was used to describe the motion of the vehicle. They used computers and Microsoft Excel to construct position-time and velocity-time graphs. By examining the shape and slope of each graph, they were able to identify what types of graphs an accelerating object would have versus a non-accelerating object.
