Welcome to the Instructional Technology Center, better known as ITC and formerly known as AV.

Your Instructional Technology Staff is here to provide you with service to support your teaching. We believe our service and support will positively impact your students’ learning and achievement. In order to provide you with the best service, it's best to know who to ask for what.  Check out Media Personnel.

We use Alexandria for our media booking.  Some of our staff are relatively new to this program. Media Services utilizes five databases to circulate print material (books), hardware and media (tapes and dvds). Since Thornwood is not quite ready to book equipment using Alexandria, a call, or a personal visit to ITC is required to check out specialized hardware.  If you know far enough in advance of a special need then email our department about your request.

Your House's should have a supply of media carts with DVD/VCR combos or just plain VCR's available for your use.  Please check with your house leaders for a list of available equipment.   However, if you want a video or DVD you need to use Alexandria.  There is a nice tutorial at the left linked to the plain "Alexandria button" or just give it your best shot. It’s a pretty intuitive program.  Of course, you can stop by ITC for a little one on one.  If your house does not have the equipment you need then by all means check with the ITC department.

Please remember that the use of outside media with your equipment must be cleared through the use of a permission form.  This is especially true if you want to show an "R" rated film.  Come see us in the ITC or check with a house leader so you are not held liable for such an indiscretion.  Check out the equipment page for descriptions.
