Dr. Justin Moore
Thornridge High School has a rich tradition of academic and athletic success. We use our past successes as the foundation and stepping stones for what we will create and achieve in the future.
Our vision is for Thornridge to serve the community by providing challenging learning and leadership opportunities for our students in a safe, secure, and supportive environment. Our mission is to provide quality education that fosters personal growth, develops responsible citizens, and promotes lifelong learning.
We offer a wide variety of innovative activities and programs to keep our students engaged and on the path to enroll in a college or vocational program, enlist in military service, or become gainfully employed after they graduate. For example, students can choose to participate in a training course that will give them the skills and knowledge to work in the electrical field. The program is the result of a partnership between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and School District 205. Students who successfully complete the course may qualify to participate in the IBEW’s Apprenticeship Program.
In addition to our academic programs and activities, we have numerous clubs, activities, and athletics opportunities for students to explore their extracurricular interests. This includes, but is in no way limited to: baseball, basketball, and wrestling teams; cheerleading squads; and foreign language, science, and audio visual clubs.
I have been the principal of Thornridge for one year. I am a certified administrator and prior to coming to District 205, I served as a principal in various school districts in Illinois and Missouri for 13 years. Currently, I provide leadership and oversight for every program at Thornridge. I believe that instructional leadership is important, so I strive to balance my administrative and managerial duties with my responsibility to promote and facilitate our students’ academic achievement and growth. It is crucial that our educators, support staff, and students have the resources and guidance that they need to maximize their potential as we work toward this common goal. While we focus on achieving our objectives, I encourage everyone to make it an enjoyable process.
Helping students develop is awesome! It is great to witness students work hard and achieve their dreams. It is especially rewarding when former (or current) students tell us about their successes and the positive things that they are doing in their lives. It is a reminder of the important work that our educators and staff do.
Thornridge is steadily on the rise and we look forward to future achievements!
