Supporting Student Success
As an Adult Transition Program Coordinator, I support young adults with disabilities as they prepare for life after high school. I work closely with students, families, and staff to make sure each individual has access to meaningful opportunities that build independence and confidence.
My role includes leading IEP meetings to help plan each student’s future, including goals for employment, education, and daily living. I oversee the program to ensure it runs smoothly and meets the needs of all students.
I also support staff in providing hands-on experiences in vocational training, academics, and independent living skills. Together, we focus on helping students develop the tools they need to succeed in their communities and lead fulfilling, independent lives.
Philosophy & Approach
I take a student-centered, strengths-based approach, focusing on each individual’s goals, interests, and abilities. I work collaboratively with students, families, and staff to create meaningful learning experiences that build independence and confidence. I provide supportive, real-world opportunities that prepare students for success in their communities.
I want students to know that I am here to support them every step of the way as they work toward their goals. I listen to their ideas, respect their choices, and help them build the skills they need to be more independent and confident. It is imperative that I create a supportive environment where they feel encouraged, capable, and prepared for life beyond the program.
Favorite Part of Working at Outlook
My favorite part of working at Outlook Academy is being part of a college environment where students can experience greater independence and a sense of belonging. It’s exciting to see them navigate the campus, access resources, and build connections in a setting that prepares them for life after the program.
Professional Interests / Fun Fact
