Role at Outlook Academy

As Dean/Behavior Specialist at Outlook Academy, my role is centered on listening to students, building meaningful relationships, and providing the guidance and support they need to be successful. I believe that strong relationships are the foundation for positive behavior, personal growth, and academic progress.

I work with students to understand challenges, make positive choices, resolve conflicts, and develop the skills needed to navigate both school and life successfully. My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where students feel heard, valued, and encouraged while also understanding the importance of accountability and personal responsibility.

Through collaboration with students, families, teachers, and staff, I strive to help each student overcome barriers, strengthen decision-making skills, and stay focused on their path toward graduation and future success.

Philosophy & Approach

My philosophy is grounded in the belief that positive behavior begins with strong relationships, trust, and understanding. I take time to listen to students, learn what may be contributing to their choices or challenges, and provide guidance that helps them move forward in a positive direction.

My approach balances support with accountability. I work to create a respectful environment where students feel heard, valued, and supported while also helping them understand expectations, take responsibility for their actions, and develop stronger decision-making and problem-solving skills.

I want every student to know that they have someone in their corner. Whether you need guidance, someone to listen, help working through a difficult situation, or encouragement to keep moving forward, I’m always here for you. My goal is to help students build confidence, strengthen relationships, overcome barriers, and stay focused on their academic, personal, and future success.

Favorite Part of Working at Outlook
My favorite part about working at Outlook Academy is the students. Every student brings their own experiences, strengths, personality, and potential to our school community. I value the opportunity to get to know them as individuals, build meaningful relationships, and support them as they work toward their goals. Seeing students grow in confidence, overcome challenges, make positive choices, and recognize their own potential is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. Our students are at the heart of Outlook Academy, and being able to encourage, guide, and celebrate their progress is what makes this work so meaningful.
Professional Interests / Fun Fact
I’m proud to be a graduate of Thornton Township High School District 205. Having once been a student in this district gives me a personal connection to the community and a deep appreciation for the students and families we serve. It is especially meaningful to now have the opportunity to give back, support the next generation of District 205 students, and be part of their journey toward graduation and future success.
