Role at Outlook Academy
At Outlook Academy, I support students and families by helping guide the transition into and through our program. My role includes reviewing home school counselor referrals for prospective Outlook Academy students, participating in intake and graduate check-out meetings, monitoring student records and graduation progress, and ensuring all District 205 and Outlook Academy requirements are met. I also review transcripts, verify that required student forms are completed, and serve as the state testing coordinator to help keep students on track for success.
Philosophy & Approach
My approach to working with students is centered on listening carefully to each student’s individual needs, goals, and aspirations. I strive to provide support whenever I can, and when additional help is needed, I connect students with the appropriate staff member or resource. I believe that collaboration and personalized support are essential to helping every student succeed.
I want students to know that I am here to listen, answer their questions, and help them find the support they need. I make time to understand their concerns so I can provide guidance, encouragement, and solutions that will help them be successful.
Favorite Part of Working at Outlook
My favorite part of working at Outlook Academy is the calm and focused learning environment. Without constant interruptions, students and staff are able to stay engaged in instruction and build a more positive, productive school experience.
Professional Interests / Fun Fact
One of my favorite parts of this work is seeing the big smiles on students’ faces when I hand them their Graduation Clearance paper with their name on it. It is a proud and rewarding moment that celebrates their hard work and progress toward graduation.
Student Support Services Provided
The programs and initiatives I oversee include the Intake Form, Exit Questions, Student Program Anecdotal documentation, state testing coordination for the PreACT and ACT, and the Graduation Clearance Checklist. These responsibilities help ensure students are properly supported, accurately monitored, and fully prepared for graduation.
Student Intake & Exit Forms
All students are referred to Outlook Academy by their home school counselor.
